Help & common questions
Quick answers for players and organizers. Still stuck? We're happy to help.
How do I join an event?
Your organizer shares an event code or a QR poster. Scan the QR, or go to the event portal and enter the code, then fill in the short registration form. That registers you for the challenge.
I registered on the website — how do my steps get counted?
After you register you get an app-join code and QR. Install the Wasabi Walk app, then scan that QR (or type the code) to link your phone to your registration. From then on your steps sync automatically.
My steps are not showing up or syncing.
First, make sure you granted the app permission to read steps — Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android. Open the app so it can sync (it syncs roughly once a day and when you open it), or use “Sync now” from the menu. Today’s steps can take a little while to appear, and the leaderboard uses each day’s confirmed totals.
I got a new phone or reinstalled the app. How do I get back in?
Set up a recovery code from the app menu while you still have access (Menu → Recovery code). On a new device, choose to recover with that code to relink to your existing participant and history. If you did not set one up, ask your organizer to issue you a fresh join code.
How are teams decided?
Teams are formed automatically and kept balanced across the groups your organizer chose (for example by office or location), so the contest stays fair. You will see your team in the app once teams are set.
Do I need the app to organize an event?
No. Organizers create and manage events entirely in the web portal — no app required. The app is only for players, so their phones can count steps toward the challenge.
Which phones are supported?
iPhones using Apple Health, and Android phones using Health Connect. Steps come from the health data your phone already records, so there is nothing extra to wear or carry.
How do I leave an event or remove my data?
Open the app menu and choose “Leave event”. That removes you from the event and deletes your step data for it, and the leaderboard recalculates without you. See the privacy policy for more on data and deletion.
